1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account.
  • Payment Information: Payment details are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information on our servers.
  • Usage Data: Study session activity, quiz and exam results, per-question progress, spaced-repetition schedule, confidence ratings, flags and notes, and analytics to provide and improve the Service.
  • Preferences & Settings: Your chosen language, theme, text size, learning-aid toggles, study-reminder preferences, and onboarding profile.
  • Device Information: Browser type, IP address, and device identifiers for security and analytics purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Track your study progress and provide analytics
  • Send important account and service notifications
  • Send marketing communications (only with your consent; you can unsubscribe anytime)
  • Detect and prevent fraud and abuse

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Stripe: For secure payment processing.
  • Hosting Providers: Our infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf under strict data protection agreements.
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights and safety.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Security. Deletion is scheduled after a 14-day grace period, during which you can restore your account by logging back in; after the grace period your personal information is permanently removed, except where we are required by law to retain certain records (for example, billing records tied to past payments). Anonymized usage data may be retained for analytics purposes.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure password hashing, and regular security audits. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Delete your account and data yourself from Settings → Security (with a 14-day restore window)
  • Reset your study progress from Settings → Security
  • Request an export of your study progress data
  • Opt out of marketing communications and study reminders

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We may use analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
